Adderall Patient Assistance Programs
Shire Pharmaceuticals does have a patient assistance program, Shire Cares, that offers financial help for patients who have trouble paying for medications. While the program does provide assistance for Intuniv® and Vyvanse®, two of Shire's newer ADHD medications, it does not cover Adderall®. Patients that need financial help to buy Adderall® may benefit from Adderall XR® samples or Adderall®or Adderall XR® coupons.
The Partnership for Prescription Assistance matches patients with potential savings programs. If a private or public organization begins to offer assistance for Adderall®, The Partnership for Prescription Assistance can help refer patients to them.
Dangers of Buying Drugs Online
Adderall®, a Shire Pharmaceuticals medication, is a central nervous system stimulant that works by affecting the nerves and chemicals in the brain that help control impulse control and hyperactivity. It is prescribed to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. Adderall® combines amphetamine and dextroamphetamine in a single drug.
Common side effects that may be experienced while taking the drug may include:
- Dry mouth
- Loss of appetite
- Difficulty sleeping
- Upset stomach
- Abdominal pain
- Sexual problems
Adderall® contains amphetamine, and has a high potential for abuse. Therefore, doctors do not typically recommend the drug for patients who have histories of drug or alcohol addiction. Adderall® can also cause dependency, and lead users to consume increasingly larger doses, which can result in heart attack, stroke and death.
