Advair® is a prescription steroid bronchodilator medication.[1] The drug is manufactured by the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. It is used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, also known as COPD, and to prevent asthma attacks. Advair® is available as Advair Diskus® or Advair HFA®.[2] Advair should not be used to treat sudden, severe symptoms of COPD. A rescue inhaler medicine should take care of sudden symptoms.[3] Advair Diskus Patient Assistance Programs are available for those patients experiencing financial difficulties. Patients can receive their Advair Diskus® for just $10 a month for up to a year through the GlaxoSmithKline Bridges to Access program.[4] Those who have been prescribed Advair Diskus® by their physicians can learn about the Bridges to Access program, as well as other savings opportunities to help lower the cost of their drug therapy.
