From Pharmacy Drug Guide
Allegra®, or fexofenadine, is an over-the-counter medication that treats seasonal allergy symptoms, also called hay fever or allergic rhinitis. It blocks and reduces the effects of natural histamines in the body that can cause allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny or stuffy nose and irritated eyes. Allegra® is made by Chattem, a division of Sanofi.
Allegra® coupons, manufacturer's rebates, and printable discount vouchers can help reduce the cost of an Allegra® prescription. Printable coupons for dollars-off deals are offered through the official Allegra website. Additional discounts may occasionally be offered through weekly ad circulars from pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS.

Allegra® is a brand of the generic drug fexofenadine, in a class of drugs called antihistamines. Allegra® (fexofenadine) and Allegra-D, with decongestant (fexofenadine/pseudoephedrine), are antihistamine medications that used to be available by prescription only. On March 4, 2011, all Allegra® medications became over-the-counter (OTC) medications, while still containing the same concentration of active ingredient found in the prescription version.
Allegra® may be used to treat seasonal allergies symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, and itchy, runny nose. Fexofenadine may also help treat and relieve the symptoms of urticaria such as itchy raised areas of the skin, hives and rash. Fexofenadine works by blocking the effects of natural histamines in the body that cause allergy symptoms. Common Allegra® side effects include heartburn, upset stomach, headache, back pain and irritation of the throat.
