Cozaar® is administered once or twice daily, by mouth, in formulations of 25 mg to 100 mg. The typical dosage is 50 mg once daily by mouth, with or without food. As with many prescription drugs, Cozaar® may cause side effects in some patients. The most common Cozaar® side effects include pain in the back, knees, or legs, dizziness, weak or cramping muscles, and heartburn. The more serious side effects associated with Cozaar® use include problems swallowing, difficulty breathing, pain in the chest, and swollen hands, ankles, feet, the lower legs, tongue, lips, and throat.
Cozaar Patient Assistance Programs and Coupons
- The Xubex Patient Assistance Program offers discounted Cozaar® to patients. In order to get the savings, patients must qualify by filling out a registration form and purchase their medication through Xubex Pharmaceuticals. Eligible patients must be U.S. residents. However, there are no income restrictions and patients may still qualify for the discounted Cozaar® even if they have insurance.
- Merck patient assistance programs may provide free Cozaar® to patients for up to a year. In order to qualify, patients must be U.S. residents, have no prescription drug insurance coverage, and must have an annual household income for individuals that is $43,320 or less, an income for a couple that is $58,280 or less, and an income for a family of four that is $88,200 or less.
