Singulair® is the trade name for the generic drug montelukast sodium, and is in a class of drugs called leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs). - Merck also has patient assistance programs for their asthma and allergy patients who may not be able to afford their Singulair® montelukast sodium prescription.
