About Stelara

Stelara®, a prescription immunosuppressant, reduces the effects of inflammation in the body. It is primarily used to treat adults with plaque psoriasis, a condition with raised and silvery flaking of the skin.[3] Stelara® is administered as an injection underneath the skin by a licensed health care provider. After the initial two starter injections, follow up doses will be administered approximately 12 weeks apart.[6]

Stelara® may decrease the number of blood cells that work to help the body fight infection, adversely affecting the immune system. This makes it easier to contract an illness or infection and may also increase the risk of some forms of cancer.[3]
